The Eastern
Industrial Corridor, which is the government backed economic
region, has been envisioned by the Federal Government of
Malaysia to be developed into an ultra-modern industrial region
servicing the petrochemical and chemical manufacturing
industries. It covers the states of Pahang, Terengganu and
Kelantan on the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia. |

multinational corporations to locate their operations at the

Vast
industrial land is available for the chemical and petrochemical
industry sited at Gebeng Industrial Estate has made it a
world-class petrochemical manufacturing zone covering an area of
8,600 hectares. The Gebeng Industrial Estate is a thriving hub
of commercial activity where numerous multinational corporations

Complementary to this, the new Gebeng by-pass will see the ease
of traffic flow between Gebeng Industrial Estate and Kuantan
Port. The by-pass will directly link with the East West
Expressway to connect Kuala Lumpur with Kuantan. |

This will
provide a cost-effective means of transportation and greater
accessibility in the transfer of freight and raw materials to
and from Gebeng Industrial Estate to the domestic and
international markets. This will also greatly increase the
viability of Kuantan Port in the domestic and international
freight movements on a land bridge concept. |
